Current-induced spin-wave Doppler shift.
Spin transfer appears to be a promising tool for improving spintronics devices. Experiments that quantitatively access the magnitude of the spin transfer are required for a fundamental understanding of this phenomenon. By inductively measuring spin waves propagating along a permalloy strip subjected to a large electrical current, we observed a current-induced spin wave Doppler shift that we rel...
متن کاملSpin current-induced by a sound wave.
The interaction of conduction electrons with a longitudinal sound wave propagating in a crystal in a constant magnetic field is investigated. It is shown that the transverse spin current arises when the longitudinal sound wave propagation through the system. The average power absorbed by the spin subsystem of the conduction electrons and the spin-Hall conductivity have a resonant character.
متن کاملCurrent-induced spin-wave excitations in a single ferromagnetic layer.
Evidence for a current-induced spin-transfer torque effect has been investigated in a series of point contacts to single ferromagnetic layers. At specific current densities, abrupt resistance changes, similar to those attributed to current-induced spin-wave excitations in multilayers, have been observed for one current polarity. The critical current for these resistance changes depends linearly...
متن کاملDoppler effect induced spin relaxation boom
We study an electron spin qubit confined in a moving quantum dot (QD), with our attention on both spin relaxation, and the product of spin relaxation, the emitted phonons. We find that Doppler effect leads to several interesting phenomena. In particular, spin relaxation rate peaks when the QD motion is in the transonic regime, which we term a spin relaxation boom in analogy to the classical son...
متن کاملInterfacial DMI Induced Directional Spin Wave in Spin-torque Oscillators
Spin torque oscillators (STOs) are currently of great interest due to its wide tunable frequencies, low energy consumption and high quality factors compared with traditional oscillators. Here, we report the characteristics of the nanocontact-(NC-)STO in the presence of interfacial Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction (DMI), using micromagnetic simulations. We find that the DMI can decrease the STO...
